Home is Wherever I'm with You

After about 12 hours in the car, and 10 hours of Yo Gabba Gabba episodes, we made it! We could not be any more excited to be home! No words. Saydee did amazing on our drive home, and we couldn't have asked for an easier trip.

Although the season didn't end quite as we were hoping, we are grateful for the chance Eric had to play in the wildcard game. If you saw the game, you know that those guys left everything they had on the field, and fought until the very last out. What a game. My voice is literally still horse from yelling and cheering.

Before we left for the season in April we closed on a new home in Scottsdale not too far from our old place. It has the most amazing backyard and we can't wait to make tons of memories here. Unpacking has been a huge pain in our butts, but I'm having a great time organizing and finding everything its perfect spot. Three words. The. Container. Store.

Saydee is loving having room to crawl around and explore every inch of our new place. After being in a hotel for the last three months she probably feels like she's in the White House! She's getting so big and will be walking before we know it.

We are waiting a few more days while we settle in before getting Winnie back, but we cannot wait! Boy, we have missed that furry pup! Huge thanks to the Matt's for taking care of our fur baby for us! I know she's been loved on like crazy and may possibly go into a deep depression when we take her back.

I'm praying for a slow off-season and am ready to soak in tons and tons of family time! We may even get a few date nights in here and there now that we have perma-sitters (aka grandparents) in town. Can't wait!

Nueve

September! Weeeee!

Not only does that mean that Say is 9 months old, but it also means that we are very, very close to being home. Obviously we don't want to be home toooo soon (we're trying to make a playoff run here!), but the thought of getting back to our new house definitely makes me a little giddy!

It has been a whirlwind of a baseball season, but we have sure learned a lot. Eric is so amazing and I can't express how proud I am of him. Baseball and life brought us some ups and (many) downs this season, but overall it has been such a great learning experience and we are coming out of it so much stronger.

I can't believe our little baby is 9 months! It's not real. She is such a sweet, happy girl. I love how silly she is, and how she loves to make us laugh. Our world is so much brighter with her in it. I'm pretty much blogging today to brag about my family.

I'm so excited for post-season and pray that these guys can pull through and make a good run! They have all worked so hard and deserve every bit of success. Crossing my fingers!!

As much as we have loved our little hometel these last few months, we are so ready and excited to be back with our sweet pup and move into our new home. We left it a week after we closed back in March, and we just can't wait to get in and settled. Eric and I are excited to be home and spend lots of good quality time together as a family. We have missed our family and friends in Arizona (and elsewhere) so much, and are just so excited to spend lots of time with them in the next few months.

We're Outta Here!

It's that time again. Baseball season. This year marks the 7th season we have been through together. Ready or not, here we go!

This offseason has been amazing! I can't even begin to list all of the things we were able to do.

We started off with an awesome trip to Jamaica and celebrated our first anniversary.

This little beauty came into our lives.

We spent an amazing weekend in Sedona.

And so, so much more!! Boy did the time fly. Since our time together is so sparse during the season, we love and enjoy every minute we get to spend during the offseason.

Spring training this year has been lots of fun, especially being able to be home! Sleeping in our own bed is something we have come to really appreciate! We have loved being able to hang out with our friends, and I've definitely enjoyed the company during lots of Eric's games thus far. We are so thankful for the many amazing friends we have here in Arizona, and are going to miss you all SO much :(

We head out to California in less than a week. I just can't believe it's already here, but we're getting ready and excited to see what this year will have in store for us. Although we don't know where we're going yet (Oakland-big leagues, or Sacramento- triple a), we are packing up and heading out. Eric will find out where he will be on the very last day of spring. How convenient, right? Eric has had an absolutely amazing spring, and we could not be more thankful. This year is going to be a good one, I can feel it.

We're Baaaaaack!

Last night after Eric's game I got the "I might be a bit, I've gotta pack up ;)" text. That's right, we got called back up to the big leagues! I say 'we' because I like to think of us as a team. It's one of the best feelings ever! When you get that call-up, a million things start running through your head. Most of it is excitement, and for me, that feeling of being SO proud of my husband I literally jump for joy. Literally.

After being in Sacramento for one whole night, we were once again leaving. But this time it was a much happier move! No whining, crying, or complaining like last time ;) Our lives were still packed up in the car, making the move pretty quick. We headed back to the hotel to pack up our suitcases, stopped for gas (and maybe some fast food), and were on the road by 11:45pm. After a quick hour and a half drive, we were back in our little apartment, and boy does it feel good!

Traveling is fun, and it's great to be able to experience and see all of these new places, but it's definitely nice to have somewhere to call home. Eric had been in a hotel for just over 3 weeks. It gets old. Fast. We are just beyond thankful to be back in Oakland for so many reasons I can't even name them all. The first thing we did before packing up last night was to get on our knees and thank God for all of our many, many blessings. We have been so blessed, and guided in this last month in so many ways. The blessings we have received are infinite and we are so thankful for each and every one of them!

We're so happy to be back, even though we have no idea how long it will be. Could be a week, could be the rest of the season. If you haven't figured it out already, our life is somewhat unpredictable. One thing we continue to learn in all of this, is to be thankful for what we have and where we are, no matter the situation. I know I've said it before but we are so grateful for all of the support we have from family and friends. We love you guys and appreciate the love you give us, even from a distance!

Thankful and happy.
